Talk Mental, Peer to Peer Listening service is for individuals who would like to talk about anything that may be affecting their mental wellbeing.
It may be help you are seeking to ‘unload’ with regards to an ongoing problem where an independent listener may be helpful or where you need to give air to your concerns regarding unresolved issues.
The sessions of 60 minutes are held in a safe comfortable environment and are 100% confidential, except in some rare instances where the ‘Peer Talker’ is informed that confidentiality may not be guaranteed, due to ethical issues.
‘Listening’ services are delivered from a person-centred perspective and are not generally about advising what available solutions you might opt for.
Peer to Peer Listeners will have ‘lived experience’ of mental wellbeing and distress and will have been certified with skills in Counselling & Psychotherapy and/ or techniques in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
